Deep-dive on how we keep Sheridan County ND moving

We build storm playbooks that define pretreat timing, plow sequences, and sidewalk rotations so no entrance is left to chance.

Each operator receives a digital route card with photos of sensitive areas, valve boxes, and decorative surfaces that require softer edges.

We pair live radar with pavement temperature readings so we can pivot from plowing to melting the moment bond risk appears.

Communication remains constant: dispatch texts when crews roll, arrive, clear priority zones, and finish, attaching photos so you can forward proof to leadership without edits.

Medical sites get heightened redundancy with secondary units shadowing primaries during critical appointment windows.

Parking capacity stays high because we pre-plan pile locations that protect sight lines, hydrants, and drainage; if piles grow too large, we haul at off-peak hours.

When temps crash, we layer treatments to avoid refreeze without over-applying, guarding both concrete and landscaping.

Seasonal clients get mid-winter audits to adjust pile plans, signage, and melt recipes based on real-world performance.

We keep spare cutting edges, hydraulic fluid, and belts in every support truck so downtime never strands a route mid-pass.

Documentation closes the loop: timestamped routes, treatment types, product volumes, and photo evidence are packaged for risk, facilities, and legal teams.

The Dakota Territory legislature created the county on January 4, 1873, naming it for Civil War General Philip Henry Sheridan. The county organization was not completed at that time, but the new county was not attached to another county for administrative or judicial purposes. In 1883 and again in 1887, the county boundaries were reduced, and on November 8, 1892, the county was dissolved, its remaining territory assigned to McLean. This lasted until the November 3, 1908 election, when McLean County voters chose to partition off the eastern portion of that unit into a new county, although the new boundaries were somewhat different from the former Sheridan. The new county government was effected on December 24 of that year.
